With the current COVID 19 pandemic taking over, and most people staying indoors, businesses and a lot of people needed assistance to get through the pandemic. Most of the companies that were struggling to get through the pandemic were the MSMEs which are the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. There are specific rules they have to follow if they want to be in this category. MSME schemes, especially within the service sector help entrepreneurs, set up businesses
Here are some of the schemes that the Government rolled out to assist.
The Udyog Aadhar Memorandum Scheme replaces a previous registration process called the SSI
(Small Scale Industry) Registration or MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) registration.
The earlier process required plenty of paperwork and submissions and the MSME registration
took a lot of time. With the improved scheme, the applicants could get through the registration
using two forms:
To improve the process further, it is now online, and MSME’s registering through the scheme using their Aadhaar are entitled to MSME loans, government subsidies, hassle-free bank accounts in the name of the MSME. Currently, the scheme has registered around two lakhs small-scale businesses.
The primary purpose of the scheme was to assist people through eGovernance, allowing people who are running MSMEs to use the online system to get through the process, which was now faster and more convenient.

SSI
Small Scale Industries can be either manufacturing industries or service providers. They comprise
of small enterprises manufacturing goods or providing services with the help of smaller machines
and few workers and employees. The Government used to run a lot of schemes for these
industries, including providing them with loans at low-interest rates.
MSME
As the name suggests, MSME industries are Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. There are
